Apple lets loose with updates to iPad lineup

Lots of small upgrades were released into the iPad lineup by Apple for the 2024 cycle. It’s absolutely clear that iPads are a heavy investment by the company in their vision for the future of computing.

A new 13-inch iPad Air will join the 11-inch in the lineup and get an M2 chip upgrade. They'll come with either 128GB/512GB/1TB of storage. The smaller version starts at $599, while the new larger size will begin at $799.

The iPad Pro gets the bigger alterations as the best iPads will now be powered by a brand new M4 processor. Apple claims the M4 is 50% faster than the M2 chip, thus positioning the new iPad Pros to be sustainable for AI. The 11 and 13-inch sizes will also now house an OLED display and a thinner body.

The starting price for the 11-inch Pro will be $999, while the 13-inch model starts at $1,299.

Joining the iPad Pros will be a new Apple Pencil Pro which supports haptic feedback and has a sensor that recognizes when you’re squeezing it in order to open up an on-screen menu on the tablet. This pencil is priced at $129.

Also assisting in the computerizing of the iPad Pros is a new Magic Keyboard which will provide users with a larger trackpad that has haptic feedback, a function row, and a palm rest as well. The keyboard that pairs with the 11-inch model is going to cost $299, with the bigger model adding an extra $50 to the purchase.
