Amazon slices both the shape and price of New Echo Spot

One of Amazon’s aging products is getting both a facelift and a price drop. The 2024 Echo Spot will now have a starting price of $79.99, but will launch with a Prime Day special of $44.99 for Prime members.

Originally debuting in 2017, the Spot was essentially a ball that was halved. The new redesign splits the round screen in half once again and then adds a square inside. This reduces the overall display real estate to a mere 240 x 320p touchscreen. Amazon also removed the camera on this version of the Spot.

The semicircle will provide users with better image quality, and also improved audio quality as well. The new Spot will be offered in white, black, and a brand new blue color. Like other Alexa devices, the Spot can control smarthome devices as well as doubling as a bedside alarm clock.

You can order the Echo Spot now on Amazon (Affiliate Link).
